Access shared files remotely

Logging in

  1. Go to https://files.njstatelib.org/
  2. You'll be redirected to sign in with your Microsoft account. If you've already signed in to another Microsoft service like Teams, webmail, or the Intranet, you won't need to log in.

Accessing the file server

  1. Start at the Files screen. If your screen does not look like the picture below, click the folder in the upper left corner.

  2. You may see icons for Private Drive and Shared Drive in the listing on the right, as shown above. If so, just click on those icons to access the file server.

Private Drive is the P: drive from your work computer.
Shared Drive is the S: drive from your work computer.

  3. If it is your first time logging in, they may not be there. In that case, click on External storages on the left menu.

  4. Click on either the Private Drive or Shared Drive to access each file share.

Common problems

My Private or Shared folder is empty

Sometimes the folders on the file server don't load the first time you access them. You'll see a screen like the one below:

If this happens, just click the name of the folder in the breadcrumb links at the top of the screen to refresh the listing.

For example, if I loaded the IT folder and it came up blank, I would click this link to fix it.
