Multi-factor authentication secures your NJSL account with an extra challenge like a text message, mobile app prompt, or numeric code. It's an easy and important way to keep your account secure.
Please follow the steps below to make your work account more secure by setting up this extra protection.
How to add multi-factor authentication to your NJSL account
Please contact the IT HelpDesk with any questions about MFA enrollment, or any issues during setup.
Here's how to get started
- Open your web browser and go to https://aka.ms/mfasetup
Enter your work email and password in the Microsoft login box
Before entering your email and password, always confirm the URL starts with https://login.microsoftonline.com/
- If you've set up an MFA method already, you'll be asked to use it. You may need to enter a code from a text message or app on your cell phone.
- When prompted, click Yes to stay signed in.
- Click the Add sign-in method link and select an MFA method
See instructions below for Authenticator app and Phone / Alternate phone
Do not select Office phone, and do not select Call me with your work number. Selecting those options may get you locked out, since you need to sign in to receive work calls.
