When you're in a call, you can conference in another staff member. Just follow the steps below.

Adding another party by number

Tip

If you're adding a staff member to the call, please see the Shortcut instructions further down the page for a much simpler process.


On a desk phone

  1. While on a call, press the Hold button to put the current call on hold

  2. Using the keypad, dial the number of the person you want to add to the call

  3. Once the person answers, click the More button and select Merge with <previous caller> from the menu that appears

  4. The calls will be merged into a conference call. To return to the call, click the Tap to return to call banner at the top of the screen

  5. When you're done, click the End call button to finish the call

On a PC or laptop

  1. While on a call, switch to the main Teams interface and the select the Calls button from the left menu

  2. Dial the number - this will place your original call on Hold automatically if it wasn't on hold before
  3. In the new call window, click the More button and select Merge Calls from the drop down

  4. Select the call you want to merge into

  5. The calls will be combined into a new window, showing all participants

Shortcut - adding a staff member

Tip

If the person you want to add to the call is another staff member at NJSL (State Street or TBBC), you can use the shorter process below.

On a desk phone

  1. Tap the conference button, seen in the bottom left top right corner of the screenshot below

  2. The list of call participants will appear. Tap the button in the lower right (person with a plus sign) to add a party to the call.

  3. Once you've located the person, click the check mark button next to Add members to add them to the call. They'll appear in the call screen after answering the call.

  4. When you're done adding people, tap the banner labeled Tap to return to call to return to the main screen.


On a PC or laptop

  1. Click the People icon in the menu bar.

  2. The list of call participants will appear. In the box, type the name of the person you want to add to the conference:

  3. Select their name from the dropdown to add them to the conference. When they answer, they'll appear in the Participants list.
